Selected participants complete 8 weeks of full-time training before being placed on jobs.
To graduate, trainees must demonstrate competence in the safe use and proper care of hand and power tools, shop production, wood technology, finishing techniques, cabinet installation, and mechanical drawing. Trainees are also instructed in techniques for communicating with supervisors, and job search and interview skills. Trainees receive real-life experience working on actual jobs for paying customers.
